General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, popularly known as IBB, is a Nigerian military leader and politician who served as the military President of Nigeria from 1985 to 1993.

He received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Nigerian Army in 1963 at the age of 22. He served as a commanding officer during Nigeria's civil war from 1968 to 1970 and rose to the rank of Major General by 1983.
